Structural substructure work sits at the critical path of most builds, so Lawday keeps steel fixing, formwork and concreting in-house rather than subcontracting it out. That means foundations, ground-bearing slabs, underpinning and retaining structures are delivered by teams who understand programme pressure and structural tolerances alike.
We work closely with structural engineers on sequencing and pour strategy, particularly on live retail and healthcare sites where underpinning and structural alterations have to be carried out without compromising an occupied building.

What’s included

Every groundworks package starts with a clear sequence: clearance and enabling, then foundations and substructure, then sub-base and hardstanding, with utilities coordinated throughout. Our in-house teams carry that sequence from first strip to final compaction test, so there’s one point of accountability rather than a chain of subcontractors.
